Tom Holland says he’ll only do Spider-Man 4 if it’s good enough

Tom Holland has given an update on his next Spider-Man movie, and it doesn’t sound too sure at this point. At a recent Critics’ Choice press conference, he said that he and his team have been “actively engaged” on what another Spider-Man movie might look like, but nothing has been decided yet.

“Whether or not we can find a way to do the character justice is another thing. I’m very protective of Spider-Man. I feel very, very fortunate that we’ve been able to work on a franchise that gets better with every movie. Been.” Holland said that he became more successful with each film, which I think is really rare and I want to protect his legacy. As reported by Collider. “So, I’m not making another one for the sake of making another one. It has to be worth the character.”

He went on to say that he would jump at the chance to play Spider-Man again if it made sense for him to do another movie. “If we can figure this out, I’d be a fool not to wear the suit again because I owe everything to Spider-Man,” he said. “I love the character and the people I work with. So, I’d love to tell another story, but only if we can find the right one.”

Earlier, producer Amy Pascal said, “Of course” there will be another Spider-Man movie with Holland, but nothing can be done during the Hollywood strike (which is now over).

Holland has also personally supported the making of the Spider-Woman movie. “We’ve had three Spider-Men in a row; we’ve all been the same. It’s nice to see something different,” he said in 2021.

Holland played Spider-Man in Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019) and No Way Home (2021). These films were made by Sony, which owns the rights to Spider-Man, in collaboration with Marvel.

Sony is also producing the upcoming Madame Web movie, which stars Sidney Sweeney as Spider-Woman.
