Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the second season of its popular animated series based on League of Legends, Arcane. It’s less than a minute long, but it seems to confirm a huge fan theory from Season 1.
Mad Chemist’s short teaser is the song, in the middle of a blood transfusion. He quickly glances at his pocket watch, then pans back to reveal the massive monster hanging above him.
Season 1 of Arcane debuted in 2021, was quickly renewed for a second season, and has been churning out more fans over the past three years. The teaser also seems to confirm a popular fan theory that Wonder, the famous Hound of the Underground dog who died in season 1, is Warwick – a wolf-like monster from League of Legends who was “transformed by painful experiments”.
In episode 9, Singad took Wonder’s body to his lab. Even looking at Warwick’s in-game design, where his body is combined with a complex system of chambers and pumps, it looks like we finally have Warwick’s main story.
Hailee Steinfeld (V), Ella Purnell (Jynx) and Kathy Leung (Kaitlyn Kiraman) have been confirmed to reprise their respective roles. Additional audio selections are to be “announced” in the coming months.
Arcane won a 2022 Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program and was named GameSpot’s Best Shows of 2021. Arcane Season 2 is currently set for release in November 2024.
