Production on the third film in the Deadpool franchise is quickly underway, and the film’s star Ryan Reynolds recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the film’s production. While the photo doesn’t give away too many details about the content of the film itself, it does confirm one thing: the production team certainly has a sense of humor.

The seats usually bear the actual name of the actor, director or producer who will be occupying them, but in this case, the names on the seats read “Logan” and “Wade Wilson” — an obvious reference to the two originals. Deadpool 3 sees Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine (aka Logan) team up with “Merc with a Mouth” Reynolds, whose real name is Wade Wilson. In the comics, Wolverine’s real name is James Howlett, but after a series of unfortunate events cause him to remember his real name, his companion Rose O’Hara begins to tell everyone that it is in an effort to protect them. The pair meet, whose name is Logan. His identity is the fixed name, but Rose apparently didn’t bother to give Wolverine a fake last name, so Jackman’s chair is written with just the character’s name, while Reynolds has his character’s full name.
Jackman’s involvement in the project was first announced by Reynolds in September 2022 via a Funny video uploaded on star’s twitter And YouTube accounts for the video of Reynolds sitting on his couch recounting the work that went into planning the franchise’s third installment, before casually asking, “Hey, Hugh. Do you want to do Wolverine again?” play?”
“Yeah, sure, Ryan,” Jackman replies, revealing that he’s been lurking off-frame for the entire video. The one-minute-and-20-second video surprised fans as it not only revealed Jackman’s role, but also the film’s release date. Deadpool 3 is currently set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
