Henry Cavill is set to star in a film adaptation of the Warhammer 40k series, but according to the actor, it’s not just another role for him. He’s a huge Warhammer fan and recently talked about the “privilege” of bringing it to life.
In an interview with Josh HorowitzCavill expressed how working on Warhammer was something he had always dreamed of: “It’s the biggest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity.”
Cavill said that since the project is still in its early stages, there is not much he can share. But he assured fans that the series will be as faithful to the source material as possible.
“Having the opportunity to bring it to the screen and back-to-back so it can be faithful is key for me,” Cavill said. “It’s something I’ve been dealing with since I was a kid. It’s the stuff I spend my free time as an adult fantasizing about and being able to bring it to life. There’s no reason but me. To this industry I joined to do something, and I’m very happy to be here.”
Late last year, Amazon and Games Workshop, the owner of Warhammer 40k, finalized a deal that would produce a TV series and film. Although not much is known about how the franchise will make the transition, Cavill did share some information late last month, saying that “big things are happening and we’re very excited.”
