If you’re one of the many people eagerly awaiting Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on February 29th, you’re probably looking to get into the game unscathed. If so, watch out on social media for the next two weeks, as reports suggest spoilers will be popping up on several shows.
Matching KotakuReddit, Tiktok, and X (formerly Twitter) users are reporting that FF7 Rebirth spoilers are starting to appear, including “screenshots, clips and descriptions” of the leaked content. These leaks have yet to be confirmed as real, but those who are concerned are in for a treat.
The alleged leak comes a week after a full PlayStation State Of Play preview of the upcoming game was released on PlayStation’s social media accounts. At the presentation, it was revealed that the new game would end at the same point as Disc 1 of the original game, as well as a playable solo demo with Cloud and Sephiroth.
There are steps you can take to protect yourself if you’re wary of spoilers, including muting key words or phrases – “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,” “FFVIIR,” or the names of characters in the game are good examples. However, if you’re looking for a more definitive option, deleting the named social media apps from your mobile device until the game’s release is enough.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29 exclusively for PlayStation 5.
